Microblading has become extremely popular and is a form of tattoo artistry where pigment is implanted into skin with a manually held tool that enables the artist to draw hair-like strokes to mimic the natural hairs of the brow. Whether you have fine, sparse hairs, over plucked, uneven, patchy areas or loss of hair due to medical reasons such as alopecia or chemotherapy and would like to achieve a more symmetrical look, this is the treatment for you.
The procedure itself is done over a course of 2 appointments, (3 if you include the consultation with patch test). It is essential to do a patch test prior to treatment to ensure there is no allergy to the pigments used.
After a successful patch test, the second appointment usually lasts a couple of hours. This is where the artist will discuss your preferences and take time drawing on the brow until you are happy with the shape of how you want your brows to look. Whether it be denser, longer or more symmetrical - the design will be tailored to your specific face shape and colour matched uniquely to your skin tone and hair colour.
Between the initial treatment and the follow up appointment you will be given aftercare advice. Aftercare is a very important part of the healing process and recommended that you follow this precisely to ensure the results are perfect and the longevity of the brows are maximised. Some clients experience patchiness or fading in areas after the first treatment, this is normal and the follow up appointment is designed to complete the procedure.
Your bespoke brows typically last 6-18 months and will fade gradually and naturally. A colour refresh touch up is advised when this happens to keep the brows looking their best.
Microblading this includes top up 4-6 weeks after the initial procedure.
